Mrs. E.D. Douglas, 78 years old, the former Miss Margaret Chaney, of Coffee County, passed away Sunday morning at her home of her daughter Mrs. Ralph Evans after several years illness.

Mrs. Douglas was born in Coffee County on April 22, 1883 the daughter of George and Cindy Ward Chaney. She was married on October 25, 1900, and was a member of the Church of God in Fitzgerald.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of God in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Bill New and the Rev. Mr. Cook officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with Harris & Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Evans, of McRae, Georgia; five sons, Homer Douglas and Lester Douglas, of Macon, Georgia; Sylvester Douglas of Fitzgerald, Georgia; Lonnie Douglas of Thomaston, Georgia, and Ellie Douglas of Cochran, Georgia; 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
