Nan Burkett Beall, 92, of Fayetteville, Georgia, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Concordia Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary on Tuesday.

Mrs. Beall was born December 3, 1926, in Arabi, Georgia, to the late Charles Castle & Zelma Hamilton Burkett. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and South Georgia College in Douglas. Mrs. Beall taught in the Fitzgerald City Schools and retired as a caseworker from Ben Hill County Department of Family and Children Services. She helped to establish Blue-Gray Community Hospice in Fitzgerald. She was formerly an active member of First Baptist Church where she served many years on the Benevolence Committee. Her heart was at Arbor Baptist Church and the Charity Sunday school class where she was a member until her health made necessary a move to her daughter’s home in September 2016. After moving to Fayetteville, she joined Harps Crossing Baptist Church where she became active in the WMU.

She is survived by her children: Roy & Kris Beall of Jasper, Alabama and Ann Bennaman of Fayetteville; grandchildren: Brad Beall, Brent & Seri Beall, Kristy & John Berry Biddle, Keri & Chris Maddox, Cliff & Kaitlyn Beall, Katie & David Hartley, Kallie Beall, and Andrew Bennaman; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.M. Beall; son, Charlie Beall; son-in-law, John Bennaman; and a brother, Don Burkett.

The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to Arbor Baptist Church Building Fund, 1137 N Merrimac Drive Extension, Fitzgerald, GA 31750.
