Mrs. Ada Flavilla (Wheeler) Bishop, 96, died early today in Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Willie G. Bishop. Mrs. Bishop had been ill for 10 years. She entered the hospital a week ago, transferred there from Johnson's Convalescent Home in Brattleboro. She was born in Whitingham on Nov. 11, 1871, daughter of Henry F. and Jane (Sprague) Wheeler. She attended Castleton Normal School and taught in the area before her marriage on Jan. 27, 1897. The couple spent the greater part of their married life in Wilmington, moving here in 1946. Mr. Bishop died on Feb. 28, 1948. She is survived by one son, Ervin W. Bishop of Wilmington; five daughters, Mrs. Edna Dix, Mrs. Esther Wheeler and Mrs. Viola Morse, all of Wilmington. Mrs. Grace Farrington of Jacksonville and Mrs. Hilma Morse of Whitingham; a half brother, Harold B. Wheeler of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a nephew. Covey Funeral Home of Wilmington is in charge of funeral arrangements.
