Irene F. Svoboda, 60, of Clutier, died Friday, March 1, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, Iowa of Cancer. Survivors include her husband, Bernard; three sons, Scott of Atlantic, Shawn of Ankeny and Shane at home; a daughter, Stacey Vogeler of Clutier, eight grandchildren; her mother Frances Kacer of Toledo; and a sister, Maxine Upah of Belle Plaine; she was preceded in death by her father; Charles Kacer; services will be 10;30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clutier, with burial in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, rural Clutier; friends may call after noon today at Mason-Hand Funeral Home, Tama with family present from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service; a memorial fund is being established; Mrs Svoboda attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, then taught school in Reinbeck and Toledo for two years; later she and her husband farmed west of Clutier for 37 years, and she also did book keeping for the family business.
