First Marriage: John Bond (1802-1853), 3 May 1830, Blackburn, England
1 child: James Bond

Immigration: Ruth crossed the Atlantic in 1848 on the ship Erin's Queen thus preceeding her son James Bond by one year. She and James spent some time at the Blockhouse Branch in Iowa and then the two of them crossed the plains in time to be counted in the 1850 federal census. Church ordinance records prove that mother and son were in Utah by 12 Oct. 1850 (Source: https://history.lds.org/overlandtravel/pioneers/58545)

Second Marriage: Ariah Coates Brower, 17 February 1851, Salt Lake City, Utah.
No children born of this marriage

Cause of death: consumption

The following poem was published with her death/burial notice, Deseret News, 8 May 1861:
She sleeps in peace, her toil is o'er
No more oppress'd with grief or pain
And troubles fret her soul no more
She's reached her sprit's home again
Thrice happy change! O blest release!
How can we mourn her absence here?
She's gained a heavenly, glorious peace
And to our memory still is dear
