Nathan Ardell “Bob” Ward, Jr. 82, of Lizella, passed away peacefully Monday, August 27, 2018 at Pine Pointe Hospice. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Immediately following, Bob will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Born in Macon, Bob was the son of the late Nathan A Ward, Sr. and Ontee Long Ward. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for almost four years. After his time in the service, Bob began a career in Numismatics, which became a passion he truly loved. He was an avid collector and was known by many for selling things at Smileys every Saturday morning. Bob enjoyed listening to music and attending football games, especially his grandsons. Some of his best times were spent with family, most recently a cruise they all took together. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Rebecca Ward and one sister; Phyllis Ward Murphy.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His son; Steve Ward and his wife Mary.Daughter; Angela Rogers. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. As well as his dear companion Martha Liz Shepherd.
