Charles E. Allen, 54, Wellman's town marshal died unexpectedly Tuesday March 9, 1971. Memorial services were Thursday, March 11, 1:30 P. M. at the Wellman Baptist Church with the Rev Albert J Larsen, officiating. Burial was in Wassonville Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Charles Polton Post of Wellman. Charles Everett Allen was born January 8, 1917 to Glenn and Emma Perrin Allen. He was married May 4, 1946 in Rock Island, Ill., to Marguerite Dietz. Chuck was employed by the town of Wellman in March 1962. His friendly and kind manner and faithful service to the community will be sorely missed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellman and a World War II veteran.
