William E. Allen Wellman - William E. Allen, 76, of Wellman, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Services were set at 3 p.m. today at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with Rev. Jerry Newland officiating and burial at the Wellman Cemetery. Mr. Allen was born Feb 27, 1907, in Wellman, the son of Glenn and Emma (Perrin) Allen. He attended Wellman schools. He married Dorothy E. Thompson June 21, 1930, in Iowa City. He was an employee of Maplecrest Turkey Plant for 35 years. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Rose Marie (Mrs. Don) Shettler of Coldwater, Mich.; one son, Robert of Iowa City; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert and Marlyn, both of Wellman; and two sisters, Edith Romine of Wellman and LaVanda Reynolds. Three brothers and one sister died earlier.
