Elizabeth Viola Coleman Beckett, 84, of Gratis, OH, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Vancrest of Eaton in Eaton, OH. She was born on October 10, 1933 in Gratis Township, Preble County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. & Grace L. (Kesler) Coleman. She was a 1951 graduate of Gratis High School and worked for Marathon Plastic in Miamisburg, OH and was a clerk for the Salvation Army in Middletown, OH. In 1954 she contracted and survived a bout with polio. Elizabeth was a member of the State Road United Methodist Church in Germantown, OH.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Beckett in 2006 and her son, Jerry L. Beckett in 2005.

She is survived by her children, Suella Mae (Mike) Reynolds and Joseph Lee Beckett; adopted brother, Charles Robert “Bob” Coleman; sister-in-law, Mary R. Hubbard; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH. Family will receive friends on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
