SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Jacks Hervey, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Moore. Interment will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. unto 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
Betty was born on July 7, 1933 to Henry and Vera Jacks and passed away on July 22, 2014. She was a resident of Shreveport where she was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church. She retired from Caddo Parish Schools after teaching special needs children for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Hervey and wife, Karen and Stephen Hervey; grandchildren, Kyle Rawls and fiancé, Carrie, Levi Shepherd, Kari Marlar and fiancé, Ronald, Shelby Stiles and husband, Kevin, Thomas Marlar and Dillon Hervey; great-grandchildren, Deslyn Smith, Kalen Rawls, Kylie Rawls and Kenneth McGraw; sister, Louise Gould and husband, Leslie; niece, Sara Beth Long and husband, Danny and their son, Josh; nephew, Charlie Gould.
Pallbearers will be Jeff McCrory, Shawn Mitchell, Paul Robertson, Thomas Marlar, Levi Shepherd and Kevin Stiles.
