Mrs. Vera King Jacks
CARTHAGE, TX - Services for Mrs. Vera King Jacks, 92, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1993 at Rose-Neath‘s Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Fred Todd and Billy Bickham, laymen of Airline Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Jacks died Sunday, October 10, 1993 at Schumpert Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Plain Dealing, La., had resided in Bossier City, La. for most of her life and was a resident of Carthage, Texas tor two years. Mrs. Jacks was a retired school teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City. She was a member of the Bossier City O.E.S. Chapter #175 and Bossier Parish Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H. S. Jacks, who was a high school principal in Bossier Parish for 18 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Louise Gould and husband, Leslie of Carthage, TX and Betty Jean Hervey of Carthage, TX: two sisters, Daisy Goodwin of Tyler, TX and Nora Cowan of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Charles Gould, Jr. of Marshall, TX, Sarah Gould Long of Jacksonville, TX, David Hervey of Stonewall, LA and Stephen Hervey of Stonewall, LA.; three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles D. McCuller, Frank M. Lampkin, George Dement, Gordon King, James Goodwin and Cecil Goodwin.

Memorials may be given to the LA Baptist Childrens Home or charity of the donors choice.
