Mrs. Hood died Monday, July 21, 1997, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.
Stata Stallings was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Aledo, the daughter of Earl and Carrie Brown Stallings. She married Maurice W. Hood Sept. 19, 1942, in Aledo.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was an avid reader and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Betty Hood, Waterloo, Ill., Steven and Janice Hood, Rock Island, Rickey and Kathy Hood, Edgington, and Bradley and Sue Hood, Rock Island; grandchildren, Amber, Erin, Steven, Douglas, Jim, Missy and Tim; great-grandchildren, Aurora, Taylor and Cory; and a sister, Nettie Engwall, Aledo.
