A native of Jacksonville, AL, Mr. Couch had lived in Albany since 1955. He served in the US Army, was a Korean War Veteran and was a recipient of the Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart. He was employed with Phoebe Putney Hospital as a medical technologist for over 30 years. Alton took great pride as a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria P. Couch of Albany, his 2 sons, Mark Couch of Kinston, AL and Stan Couch and his wife, Karan of Powder Springs, GA, 2 sisters, Doris Cobb and her husband, Bruce and Siree Tisdale and her husband, James all of Jacksonville, AL, a brother, William Couch and his wife, Mary of Auburn, AL, 4 grandchildren, Caleb, Conner and Kinsey Couch and Ryan Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at 507 3rd Ave., Suite #4, Albany, GA 31701.
