EL CAMPO - William "Bill" Edwards Sr., 76, of Louise. died Thursday morning in a local hospital. A native of Yoakum, he was born April 27, 1911, to the late Bill and Lonia Jones Edwards, He had been employed as a truck driver before his retirement. Funeral services will be held at 2 p m, Saturday at the Rising Star Baptist Church with the Rev W D Hicks officiating. Burial, with Mr Edwards' sons serving as pallbearers, will follow in the El Campo Community Cemetery under the direction of Cook Butler Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife. Mrs Hattie Mae Edwards, of Louise; seven daughters. Jeanette Rosalez of El Campo, Dorothy Jones and Jo Ann Parson of San Antonio. Gail Edwards of Dallas. Raylene Edwards of Louise, Annie Mae Thompson of Albuquerque. N M , Juanita Shackleford of Berkeley, Calif ; six sons. Darnell Edwards of El Campo. William Edwards Jr. and Eugene, Ellis and Freddie Ray Edwards of San Antonio, B T Edwards of Wichita Calls. 37 grandchildren and II great grandchildren.
