Twelve Year Old Son of Columbus
Guilbeau Falls Overboard and
Loses His Life.

About noon last Tuesday the twelve year old son of Columbus Guilbeau, of this parish, fell overboard from the [schooner] Rosalie, Capt. William Guidry, into Bayou Vermillion opposite Rose Hill Plantation, and was drowned. The boat was taking a party to the seashore. Mr. Guilbeau was not with the party, but on receipt of the sad news hastened to join the boat. The body was recovered at a late hour Tuesday and brought to Lafayette for interment.
