Sarah "Sally" (Cutler) Burke Stannard, 91, of Tunxis Village, Farmington, died Friday, (July 25, 2003) at home. Born in Hartford, she was the last of seven children of the late Louis and Mollie (Goldstein) Cutler. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford, and a past president of Alenu Chapter of B'nai Brith.

She leaves her loving husband of 35 years, Irving Stannard; a daughter, Lois Burke Shepard and her husband William of Oxford, MD; and two sons, Dr. Paul Stannard and his wife Barbetta of St. Paul, MN, and Charles Stannard and his wife Ellen of Atlanta, GA. She was the devoted grandmother of Stephanie Shepard Lipson, Cynthia Robin Shepard, Garrick Stannard, Kersten Stannard, Todd Nisoff, Charles Stannard and David Stannard; and great-grandmother of Victoria Lipson, Christina Lipson and Benjamin Stannard. She also leaves a devoted care giver, Sherry Jansen, to whom the family wishes to express their deep gratitude for her loving care and devotion.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Burke; by a daughter, Myrna Burke Nisoff; by a grandson, Warren Burke Shepard; and more recently by her sister, Fay Cutler Richland.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 27, 10:30 a.m. with Rabbi Elissa Kohen, officiating in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Cutler Family Circle Cemetery, West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford 06119.
