Samuel B. Robbins, 80, civil engineer, prominent in the development of the Sun River irrigation project in Montana and supervisor in charge of the building of the dam there, died yesterday at his home, 620 Windham street.

Robbins, a native of Connecticut, came to this city eight months ago from Simms, Mont. He had been in failing health for the past some time.

He was a member of the Congregational church, as well as a life member of Chapter 9 Royal Arch Masons, and a member of the Masonic lodge, both of Great Falls, Mont.

He is survived by his widow, Bertha Robbins and one son, Samuel C. Robbins. both of Santa Cruz: a brother, M. H. Robbins, Oakland; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from While's mortuary by Rev. Heber Mahood. Burial will be in the family plot in Oakwood cemetery.
