Died 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 1991, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 77, a native of Opelousas and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. William Frisbee. Burial in Myrtle Grove Cemetery, Opelousas.
Survived by husband, Marvin E. "Buster" Walton, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. Mauri Walton George, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Brenda Walton Melancon, Prairieville; a son, Jimmy Mark Walton, Baton Rouge; three sisters, Fannie Burleigh, Sunset, Ruby Bardwell, Opelousas, and Lallie Smith, Washington; three brothers, Albert Pefferkorn, Shertz, Texas, Donald and Dale Pefferkorn, both of Opelousas; and nine grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Trista Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Michael Keesing, Warren George, Victor J. Maddie, G.R. Walton Jr., Dale Pefferkorn and Don Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers are Albert and Donald Pefferkorn.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
