Mr. Martin O. Aoroen, age 79, of Rt. 2, Cottage Grove, died at a Madison Hospital on Wednesday, July 19, 1978. He was born December 31, 1898 at McFarland, son of the late Herman And Anna (Skogen) Aaroen.

He farmed and lived in the Madison and Cottage Grove area and was employed at the Struck & Irwin Co. for 25 years. He later worked for the Swift Fertilizer Co. for 7 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church.
Surviving are Bertha Bultman; a son, Vernon of Randolph; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Peters of Valders, Wl; five grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore and Olin, both of McFarland; four sisters. Miss Serena Aaroen of McFarland, Mrs. Joseph (Berdina) Kobeda, and Mrs. Louis (Idella) Knickmever, and Mrs. Frank (Jensina) Knickmever, all of Madison.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew on July 9, 1978; also three other brothers, Gerhard, Sam, and Albert; and a sister, Marie. Funeral services will be held in ST. PAUL'S LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH. Burial is in the Church Cemetery.
