Services are 2 p.m. Saturday from Wright and Ferguson Chapel with Rev. Howard Benton and Rev. J.P. Everette officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, the former Alma Broadwater; four daughters, Mrs. Janice Pitts of Jackson, Mrs. Jewell Hairgrove and Mrs. Dot Kusick, both of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Mildred Priscok of Jackson; six sons, James E. Sarrett, Johnny M. Sarrett, J.H.B. Sarrett, Jr., Jackie L. Sarrett, and Jerry L. Sarrett, all of Jackson and John Roper of Madison; three sisters, Mrs. Harvey Tew and Mrs. Fred Lee, both of Jackson and Mrs. M.B. Russell of Durham, N.C.; twenty five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A native of Jackson, Sarrett was a former resident of Rome, Ga., Anniston, Ala., and Jackson, Tenn., returning to Jackson about thirty-six years ago and moving to Brandon seven years ago. He was a member of the Robinhood Baptist Church and had been associated with the Mississippi Public Publishers Corporation for over thirty-five years.
