Elizabeth M. Kurpil Ret. Roscoe Sch. Emp.
Elizabeth M. Kurpil of Liberty, a retired employee of the Roscoe Central School
and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Catskill Regional
Medical Center in Harris. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frank and Lena M. Hulse Kleingardner, she was born
March 3, 1932 in the Town of Hancock.
Mrs. Kurpil had worked in the cafeteria at Roscoe Central School for 31 years.
She assisted the members of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church and was an avid bingo
player.
In a family statement, it was said, "Mom was a loving and devoted wife, mother,
and grandmother. She cherished her friends."
She is survived by her husband, Andrew, at home; three sons, Steve Kurpil and
his wife, Susan, of Liberty, Stanley Kurpil of Plattsburgh, and Nick Kurpil of
Liberty; two daughters, Loretta Kurpil, and Nancy Kurpil and her companion,
Dennis Bivins, all of Liberty; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Harold
Lacey of Monticello; five grandchildren, Justin, Jade, Todd and Katie Elizabeth
Kurpil, and Lori McCosco; and a nephew, Harold Lacey Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at the Harris Funeral Home,
West Street at Buckley, Liberty with Rev. Jearl Wallace officiating.
Burial will be made in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty.
