Nell Carolyn Allen Long, 81, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Rich Square Health Care Center. A native of Northampton County, she was a loving and caring wife to her husband of 61 years and he saw her as “one of God's truly beautiful creations”. She had been preceded in death by her parents, Winborne Allen and Nettie Bridgers Allen and several brothers and sisters.
Nell loved traveling and she and her husband, Atwood, did travel when they could with their RV, especially, to the coast. She, truly, loved the sight of a flag waving in a gentle breeze and Humming birds sipping from a feeder. She loved the Lord and appreciated the sight of God's handiwork all around her. Nell was a member of Severn Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 61+ years, Atwood Reginald D. Long of Severn; sisters, Millie Martin and her husband, Kelly; Virginia Flythe and her husband, James Earl; brother, Sidney Allen, Sr.; sister-in-law, Jessie Mae Matthews and her husband, Cam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Severn Baptist Church in Severn on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Mark Corbett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Town of Severn Cemetery.
