Following a short illness, Anna Lou Armstrong Small left this earth after 96 years.

She was born on April 4, 1922, and passed away on June 28, 2018. She was known for her uninhibited personality and friendly ways.

Anna was the daughter of Robert C. and Elsie Ledford Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Small, and daughter, Jimmy Lou Lindsay; and sisters, Margaret Addison, Jo Martin, and Agnes Walden.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hays; grandchildren, John Hays, Keith Hays, and Jeff Hays; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Mildred Carpenter and Bobbie Dickson (Kenny); and a brother, Kendall (Doris) Armstrong.

Anna was employed with American National Bank for 34 years, where she worked as a teller. She was proud of the fact that she knew most of her customers by name.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
