Goeble Stevenson, 78, of Herndon died at 1:58 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Sivells and Rev. Mike Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in New Barren Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Christian County, KY he was born September 21, 1939 the son of the Nathan Edward Stevenson and Ethel Mae Hall Stevenson. He was a farmer. He was a member New Barren Springs Baptist Church and was an honorary member of FFA.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis Fuller Stevenson; five brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his children: Sandy Stevenson (Roger) Grogan, John (Jane) Stevenson, Tammy Stevenson (James) Ferrell, Michael G. Stevenson, and Ashley Stevenson (A.J.) Johnson all of Hopkinsville; his step children: Rita Blackmon (Tom) Chewning of Hopkinsville and Michael Dale (Jennifer) Blackmon of LaFayette; his brother: Willie (Betty Lou) Stevenson of Hopkinsville; his grandchildren: Houston Grogan, Harrison Grogan, Jessica Newton, Rachel Stevenson (Zach) Hayes, John Stevenson, Jr., Logan Ferrell, Luke Ferrell, Elizabeth Gibbs, Abigail Johnson, and Ava Johnson; his step grandchildren: Glenn Chewning, Cassidy Chewning, Mitchell Blackmon, Logan Blackmon, Hunter Blackmon, and Hayden Blackmon; his great granddaughter: Elizabeth Jane Hayes; and his step great grandson: Dalton Chewning.
