"Minnie Thompson Laid to Last Rest at Services Here"
Funeral services for Miss Minnie Thompson, pioneer resident of Arizona, who died in Phoenix, Jan. 30, were held from the Jones Funeral chapel last Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Clyde Brengle, pastor of the First Baptist church conducted the services.
Mrs. Dan Shelton and Mrs. Jess Hayes sang appropriate hymns. Pallbearers were Robt. McBroom, Edgar Higdon, Gus Pinyan, Geo. Wright, Frank Gibson and Wallace Duncan. Burial was in the family plot at Globe cemetery.
A native of Texas, Miss Thompson came to Payson in 1885 with her parents, later moving to Globe, where she resided until a few years ago when she removed to Phoenix.
She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Louis Haynes in Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Ellen Ming at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Her brother, J.H. Thompson, for many years sheriff of Gila County died in Globe several years ago.
