Donald R. Bertin died in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, surrounded by family, friends and his wife of 52 years, LaVerne (Seale) Bertin. Those who knew him well found him to be a man of strong faith and much courage who lived his life with principal, quiet dignity and a terrific sense of humor. In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Richard James Bertin with wife Mary, of Round Rock, TX, and his daughter Laura Valenzuela with husband Michael, of Loganville, GA; his brother Albert Bertin, of Huntsville, AL; his sister Laurette Magill, of Westbrook, ME; and four grandchildren.

Donald was the son of Amedee and Germaine (Sylvestre) Bertin. After graduation from High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force, then worked as a computer engineer with Honeywell Bull for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. Donald was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed playing golf. He was a long time member of Saint Rose of Lima Parish and member of the Knights of Columbus in Northborough.
