William James Garrison, age 88 passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018, at his home in Chilhowie, VA.

Mr. Garrison was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Fred and Bertha Garrison and was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Garrison and his daughter Donna Neff. He was a US Navy veteran having served two tours in Korea. He later joined the US Army and the Us Air National Guard. He retired from Syracuse University as a shipping supervisor after 40 years of employment. Mr. Garrison was a former member of the Glade Spring Life Saving Crew, an avid bird watcher who loved doing word search puzzles.

Survivors include his children Beverly Whitt of Glade Spring, VA, William Garrison Jr, and wife Renee of Chilhowie,VA, Lisa Marie Getman of Chilhowie, VA and Brenda Egelston of Oneida, NY; brother Robert Garrison of Syracuse, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN. Full Military Honors will be rendered. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
