John Gilbert Amador, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018. There will be a Viewing at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Saturday, June 30, 2018, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM, followed by a Service at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will follow at South Park Cemetery. Food will be served at Tabernacle Baptist Church following the service, everyone is welcome!

On August 8, 1936, John was born in Roswell, NM, to parents, John and Helen Amador.

He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959.

John married the love of his life, Connie Ramirez on September 16, 1962, and they raised five children on their ranch in the "Big Apple". He was a hard-working self-made man that had an eye for new business ventures. John and his family owned and operated various establishments throughout the years such as: JB Loans (Amador's Pawn Shop), Roswell Super Speed Way, Tastee Freeze, Apache Gallery, and Amador Bail Bonds. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making trips to the mountains with his family and being a warrior of God. John’s family and friends will always remember him as a jokester, confidante, and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Left to eternally treasure and cherish John’s memory are his wife, Connie Amador; daughter, Sarah Candelaria; son, Andy Candelaria and girlfriend, Debbie Contreras; son, Johnny Amador and his wife, Corina; son, Michael Amador and girlfriend, Nikomi Bejarano; daughter, Josephine Michelle Martinez and husband, Greg; grandsons: Mikey and wife, Tassi, Jordan, Isaac, Johnny, Julian, Jake; granddaughters: Marianna, Chelo, Adriana and husband, Joe, Lucia, Veronica, Joslyn; great-grandson, Carter; great-granddaughters: Lizet, Elena, Aaliyah; brothers: Ernie and wife, Betty, David and wife, Priscilla, Joe and wife, Kelly; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

Preceding John in death were his parents: John and Helen Amador; sisters: Lucy Phillips, Laura May Amador; and granddaughters: Christina and Elena Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearer are: Lorenzo Sanchez and Andy Candelaria.

Chosen to serve as Pallbearers will be: Mikey Amador, Jordan Amador, Isaac Martinez, Johnny Amador, Julian Amador, and Jake Amador.
