Mrs. Elizabeth Maylen aged 69 years died at her home at 725 South Park street Enid, Oklahoma, at 8 o’clock A. m., December 15th. The remains were brought to Turon for barial [sic] and were interred Monday at 11 o’clok [sic]. She was for years a resident of the vicinity of Turon.

Mrs. Elizabeth Maylan.

Mrs. Elizabeth Maylen died December 15th, 1905, at 8:30 a. m. of pheumonia [sic] at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 15 days at her home, No. 725 South Park street, this city. Mrs. Maylan was born in Wales, December 25th, 1837, her parents emigrating to this country when she was a child. They settled in Milwaukee, Wis., where she married Joseph Maylan when they emigrated to Missouri where they settled on a farm near Grant City, later going to Kansas, where they lived until 1892, when Mr. Maylen died and was buried near Turan [sic]. Mrs. Maylen came to Oklahoma at the opening of the strip and has been a resident of Garfield county for the last twelve years, living on a farm near Douglas until about a year ago when she came to Enid to live, having purchased and improved property at 725 South Park St., where she lived until her death. Mrs. Maylan was the mother of ten children, four of which are dead, Mary, Thomas, Dora and Louis, the living are George of the city. Mrs. Sarah Cummins of Atchison, Kansas, Mrs. Hattie Jones of this city, Mrs. Ella Knoules of Guthrie, Mrs. Belle Seaman of St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Ida Hinds of this city, besides nineteen grandchildren and friends that are limited only by her acquaintance. The remains were taken to her former home in Kansas for burial beside husband, followed by all the family and a host of friends.
