Gertrude went to be with the Lord on June 17th at the age of 92. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 67 years, Aloys, her son Steven, her brothers and parents. She was born in Hobson, Texas to Emma and Joseph Bludau.

Gertrude is survived by her children: Sr. Susan Mika OSB (and the Benedictine Sisters); Michael (wife - Carrie, children - Erin (husband-Ian Bertini, children - Eleanor, Ethan, Elisa) Jeffery, Nicholas); David (wife - Tricia, daughter-Aubrey, husband David Chancellor, children - Luke and Emery); Jeanette (husband - Ken Urbanczyk, children - Edward (E.J.) and Kelsey); Steven 's son, Corey; Joe (wife - Amanda, children - Valerie and Christopher); Ronnie (wife - Laura, children - Heather, Clayton, Jeremy); Joanie (husband - Frank Noland, children - Matthew and Drew Moczygemba, Ariel Noland); Marty (wife - Anne, daughter - Harleigh Holder) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gertrude was the core of the family, running a busy household. As a military spouse for 20 years, Gertrude and the family also served by following Aloys in his many Army assignments including in the USA, Japan and France, settling in San Antonio after his retirement. She participated at St. Benedict's as a lector, Eucharistic minister, member of the Altar Society and donated many plants to the Church Festival every year. She was an avid Spurs fan. She loved playing Bunco, dominos and many card /dice games. She enjoyed sewing for the family and making quilts. Memaw, as she was affectionately known, will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank care givers: Sandy Sanchez, Marcy Lopez, Rhonda McCumber, Judy Paulson, Yazmin Godinaz and Linda Yglesias.
