Mr. Brooks, a native of Boaz, Ky., moved to St. Louis from Paducah in 1923. He was a retired railroad employee, having worked for the Illinois Central Railroad in Paducah, and the Missouri-Pacific Railroad in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Eva Brooks; a son, James Phife, St. Louis; a grandson; and a niece, Mrs.
Dora Lee Swartz, Paducah.

Mr. Brooks was a member of Plain City Lodge No, 449, A.F. & A.M., Paducah Commandry No. 11 Knights Templar, Paducah Chapter No 30 R.A.M., Missouri Pacific Square Club, and Paducah Shrine Club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hoffmeister Chapel,78914 So. Broadway, St. Louis, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lamay, Mo.
