"Pieter Brink, also called Pieter Dumond Brink, was born on March 10, 1765 in Hurley, as recorded by the RDC records in Kingston, to Petrus Brink (1729-1818) and his wife Catharina Dumond (1740-1829). He married Rachel Edmondsen (1773-1834) of Orange County, probably about 1794. They had at least one son, Peter Drummond Brink (possibly a misspelling, but identified thusly on numerous family trees). Pieter was a farmer and was farming in Hurley 1810, and probably worked his father's land, which became his own after his father died. He was buried here in Hurley in 1841. He is too young to have fought in the Revolution."
