WELLS -- Ernestine June Fenderson, 80 years, of Bill's Lane, died peacefully Feb. 19, 2007, at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, lovingly surrounded by her family.
Ernestine was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Sanford, a daughter of Victor and Irene Ainsworth Reeves. She attended and graduated from Wells High School in 1945. Ernestine was married to Clarence Fenderson.
Ernestine was well known by the regulars at Howard Johnsons in Wells as their waitress. She always had a friendly smile for her customers.
Ernestine enjoyed league bowling, bingo, cards, and board games. She loved her animals and also enjoyed walks outdoors, gardening, and flowers.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence; son, John Wayne Fenderson; and her daughter, Gail Bernier.
Ernestine is survived by her six children, Susan I. Hludik, Jeffery R. Fenderson, James D. Fenderson, Paula M. Carl, Joseph M. Fenderson, and Janet D. Knight; brother, Robert Reeves; sister, Shirley Hall; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call for visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. A funeral service will be held at the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Janet Leighninger. Interment will follow in the spring in Ocean View Cemetery.
