She was born in Kittery, a daughter of Clarence and Ernestine Reeves Fenderson, and attended Wells schools and Camp Waban in Sanford.
Mrs. Bernier worked for Goodwill Industries, Portland.
She enjoyed crocheting, and playing card games and Scrabble and bingo.
Surviving are her husband, James Bernier of Portland; her mother of Wells; four brothers, John of Wells, Jeffrey of Pearl River, La., James of Wrangell, Alaska, and Joseph Fenderson of Newburg, Ind.; three sisters, Susan Hludik, Paula Fenderson and Janet Knight, all of Wells.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, with the Rev. David Clark officiating. Spring burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.
