Obituary
Effingham, Ks, Nov 17.—We have just been called upon to perform the painful duty of announcing the death of Mr. Ed. Atchison (sic), who died at Trinidad, Colo., on last Saturday, the 14th inst. His father, Alex. Atchison, (sic) of Atchison county, Kansas, started with him from his home in this county in September last, and traveled in wagons six weeks, until they reached Trinidad, where they remained four weeks in hopes of restoring the young man to health, but alas! consumption had done its work, though hopes were entertained by father and son of his recovery up to within ten minutes of his demise. He only lasted about five minutes after the violent attack came that ended his days on earth. He was only nineteen years of age. Ed. Was a dutiful son and esteemed by all who knew him. He was interred in the Effingham cemetery
