John Roberts, 91, a resident of the Leeds Nursing Home, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Roberts was born Oct. 17, 1881, in Chariton, Iowa. He married Lillie McClain in 1902 in Onawa, and they lived in Onawa until coming to Sioux City in 1908. She died in Sioux City in 1960. Survivors include a son, Kenneth J. Roberts of Freemont, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Georgia) Strand of El Cajon, Calif. and Mrs. Edward (Kathleen) Rasmussen Jr., of Sioux City; two brothers, Dick of Le Mars, Iowa and Orville of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Jividen and Mrs. Sadie Collet of Onawa and Mrs. Sule Stansbury of South Sioux City; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for John Roberts, 91, a resident of the Leeds Nursing Home, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray De Borde will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, Leo and Michael Jividen, Douglas Lorenzen, Lloyd Cartmill, and Harold Conway. Mr. Roberts died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
