Zelma Leona Lundquist Moon
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, Zelma Leona Lundquist Moon, 90, passed away from this life on March 15, 1998, to rejoin her parents, sister, two brothers, two grandchildren, and other loved family members and friends who have gone before her to our Father's kingdom. She has been greeted with their voices that she is hearing for the first time and also the music of the angels.
She was born to Axel F. and Iva L. Hibbard Lundquist on January 6, 1908, in West Jordan, Utah. She attended the Ogden School for the Deaf, where she met, grew up with, and eventually married her partner for life and eternity, Arnold H. Moon, on June 19, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their 69 years together have been filled with a mixture of sorrow and happiness but have been full, productive, and joyful.
Zelma and Arnold worked hard all their lives and made friends wherever they were and in whatever circumstances. After retirement, they traveled extensively for many years. Zelma enjoyed creating beautiful things for herself and others.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who shared her life, and especially by her husband, Arnold; her daughters, Marjorie (Ross) Montgomery, and Beth Ann (Jay) Campbell; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and her sisters, Donna Hansen, Vyrle Butler, and Vaudis Myers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 1998, 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray, where friends may call Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City.
Thanks go to the special people who took such loving care of her during her illness: Dr, Kent DeFiore, and the Vista Hospice nurses, Dianne, Cindy, and Kathryn. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to Vista Hospice.
