James W. Orr Dead.
James William Orr, whose home was in the Duck Creek neighborhood 8 miles northwest of Reading, died in St. Mary's hospital at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon. He had been a patient in the hospital for two years and seven months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Roberts-Blue Funeral home, and will be conducted by Rev. Phillip Sarles, pastor of the First Congregational church. Burial will be in Duck Creek cemetery.
Mr. Orr was born in Peoria, Ill., November 11, 1856, the son of William and Mary Orr. He came to Kansas with his parents and five sisters March 1, 1875, and had lived in the Duck creek neighborhood ever since. He was a member of the Methodist church and of the I.O.O.F. lodge of Reading for many years. a sister, Mrs. W.A. Gordon, of Carpenter, Wyo., survives.
