Mrs. Mary Orr who has been sick for the last five months, died last Friday night and was buried Sunday at 2 o'clock in the Duck Creek Cemetery.

Grandma Orr, an old and respected lady who is known by everyone for miles around, died at the home of her son J.W. Orr in the Duck Creek neighborhood, about 8 miles northwest of Reading, last Friday, and was laid to rest in the Duck Creek cemetery Sunday, Rev. Flickinger conducted the services. Mrs. Orr has been ill for some time.
Mary Borland was born in Beth, Scotland, Nov. 22, 1822 She came to the United States when 18 years old with her parents and made her home in Illinois until 1875 when she moved to Kansas and has lived in the Duck Creek neighbor hood ever since. She was married to Wm. Orr in Morgan Co., Ill. She was converted and joined the M.E. church many years ago and has since lived a christian. Although sick many weeks she was patient and trusted in her master until the last.

The Funeral of Mrs. Mary Orr was held this afternoon at the home of her son, J.W. Orr, who lives fifteen miles northeast of town. The services were conducted by Rev. Flickinger of Reading. Interment was made at the Phillips cemetery. Mrs. Orr was eighty years old.

Grandma Orr, who had been sick for some time, died Saturday morning and was buried Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in our cemetery. She was one of the oldest settlers on Duck Creek and was loved and respected by all. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood.
