Frances E. O'Connor, 80, of Lancaster House North, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of five months. She was the wife of the late Lt. Col. Francis B. O'Connor, who died in 1968. Mrs. O'Connor lived most of her life in Lancaster but traveled with her husband during his years in military service. She worked 15 years at the F.W. Woolworth Variety Store and then three years for the former Schlotzhauer Bakery on Manor Street before retiring. Mrs. O'Connor was a lifelong member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of its Women's Association. She was also a member of the Happy Hours Club. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Bertha Bauer Dommel. Surviving are four children: Bertha D. Lechner, William D. Smith and Walter A., all of Lancaster; and Thomas P., Conestoga; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles W. Dommel and Paul W. Dommel, both of Lancaster.
