Mrs. Bertha B. Dommel, 81, widow of Peter Dommel Jr., died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at her home, 309 New Dorwart St. She had been ill for the past seven years. Her husband died in December, 1947, four months after they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Born in this city, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Harman Bauer, she was a member of the First Church of God and was a Gold Star Mother in World War I. She is survived by seven sons and daughters: Harry W., Millersville; Sara E., wife of Harry Laudenberger, Fletcher L., Edward J., and Paul W., all of this city, Charles W., New Providence; and Frances, wife of Francis O'Connor, at home. Nineteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a brother, Elmer F. Bauer, this city, also survive. (Lancaster New Era - Sep 8, 1952)
