CASSELL - Byron Cassell, 83, Portland, Ore., died Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, 1987 at a Portland, Oregon hospital, following a lengthy illness.
    Survivors include his wife, Daisy of the home and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Evelyn Swaim of Hiawatha.
    The body will be returned to Hiawatha where funeral arrangements are pending at the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Mt. Zion Community, northeast of Hiawatha.

CASSELL - Byron Cassell, 83, Portland, Ore., died February 4, 1987 at a Portland Medical Center.
    He was born November 10, 1903 in White Cloud, the son of Issac W. and Nettie Scott Cassell. He had been a long tie resident of Portland where he was a member of the Crossroads Church of Christ and the Kansas Club.
    He was married to Daisy Hull, who survives at home. He is also survived by a niece, two nephews, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swaim of Hiawatha.
    The body will be returned to Hiawatha on Sunday. The family will meet friends at the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home form[sic] 2 until 3 p.m., Monday afternoon, Feb. 9, with graveside services to follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Zion United Methodist Community northeast of Hiawatha. Rev. Harold Wolf will officiate.

CASSELL - Graveside funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in the Mt. Zion Community, northeast of Hiawatha, for Byron Cassell, 83, a White Cloud native, at three-thirty o'clock Monday afternoon, February 9, 1987. The Reverend Harold R. Wolf officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Donald Schooler, Harrison Idol, Leland Hedgecock, Kenneth Chesnut, Warren Housh, and Edwin Winterscheidt.
    Mr. Cassell was reared in this area and had made his home at Portland, Ore., the past several years. He had been in ill health for some time before his death, Wednesday morning, February 4, at a Portland Medical Center.
    Casselman-Meek Funeral Home, Hiawatha, was in charge of local arrangements.
