Velma C. (Cacciatore) Patton, 93, of Rockford, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home.

Velma was born February 11, 1925 in Lubbock, TX, daughter of Robert and Lily (Canupe) Ottinger. She married Stephen Cacciatore in 1952 in Dubuque, IA. He died in 1986. She then married David H. Patton in Rockford, IL in 1989. He died in 2005. Velma loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a nurturing, supportive mother who was always proud of her children. She was always close with God and is now an angel called home to be even closer to him. Velma will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Philip (Tammy) Cacciatore; daughter, Gina (John) Walsh; grandchildren, Christie, Melissa, and Amanda Walsh, Stephanie (Tim) Cacciatore, Philip (Ashley) Cacciatore Jr., great-grandchildren, Skylar Christine, Alexis, Dominick, Brooklyn, and Nora Jean; brother, M.L. Ottinger, and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Friday, June 1, 2018, burial will follow.
