RUTH'S OBITUARY
Purcell, MO: Ruth Ella (Tipton) Dorris, age 79 of Purcell, MO passed peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018 surrounded by her children.
She was born on July 30, 1938 in Badger, KS to the Late James Tipton and Ruby (Leonard) Tipton.
She married Joseph M. Dorris, Sr. on June 10, 1957, he survives.
Ruth was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She prayed tirelessly for the family that she loved and was selfless in her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love for the Lord made her house a home. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking hot rolls and cinnamon rolls. She also loved to crochet. But most of all, she loved spreading the Good News of the Gospel through music. She passed the love of music on to her children and together, with her, they ministered to local churches at the Dorris Family Singers. Ruth was also a member of the Miami Indian Tribe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Paul Tipton, and three sisters, Dorothy Eslinger, Doll Baughman, and Mavis Handshy.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Spring Grove Apostolic Faith Church, Galena, KS. Joel Dorris will officiate.
Burial will be in Purcell Friends Cemetery, Purcell, MO.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00pm, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
