She was an avid blood donor, having donated 81 units of blood in her lifetime. After retirement, she traveled, performed with the "Kitchen Band" at area nursing homes, playing games specifically Aggravation and dominoes with fellow retirees, and enjoyed yardwork and gardening.
Survivors are her sons, Jerry and Darrell, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, siblings, Roscoe Elkins, Floyd, Lloyd and Norval Grubb, Flossie Axsom, Florence Waldrip, Rada Deckard, Charlotte Brown and Naomi Arthur.
Funeral services will be 1 p .m. Monday at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Bruce Kelly will preside. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
