Mary listened to her heart and had the courage to follow. Mary found happiness by serving and loving her family and community. She dedicated herself to children's education in Omaha public schools through her leadership roles as lobbyist for the school board, PTO President, and active in her P.E.O. Chapter. Mary's passion for the theater led her to many years serving Omaha's Junior Theatre. Spirituality and religion played a large role in her life as an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Survived by her daughter Shelley (Keith); sons, Kim (Brenna) and Kirby; her adored grandchildren, Amber, Kyle, Kristopher, Brittany, Skylar; brother David; sister Pamela Banta; a close extended family; and many dear friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents Howard and Lura Banta (Connie). Mary is now at peace with her rock and true love, Robert J. Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 129 N. 40th St., Omaha, NE 68131.
