James Hotchkiss, Sr.
James Hotchkiss Sr., 79, a retired coal miner, died Monday morning at his home in Burlingame. He was born November 24, 1873, in Carronshore, Scotland and came to America with his parents when he was eight years old. He had lived in Burlingame every since.
Mr. Hotchkiss was married January 22, 1896, to Minnie Jack of Burlingame. His widow survives him. Other survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Watkinson, Burlingame; Mrs. Minnie Omelia, Osage City; Mrs. Mary Hess, Chicago; Mrs. Anna McCune, Burlingame; Mrs. Christina Daniels, Kansas City, Mo.;two sons, James, and Edward, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Washington, and a brother, Edward, both o Pittsburg, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Federated Church in Burlingame, and burial will be in Burlingame Cemetery. The body will remain at the Carey Funeral Home until time of service.
