Shrewsbury - Ella L. (Lemmon) Amspacher, 99, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Pleasant Acres, York. She was the wife of the late Edwin N. Amspacher.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Pastor Martha Boyer, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery, Littlestown. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Amspacher was born on December 11, 1918 in Littlestown and was a daughter of the late William M. and Elsie M. (Bowers) Lemmon.
She had worked as a trimmer at the Seven Valleys Garment Company, the Marc Stevens Motor Lodge, Hanover, and at the Myers Canning Company in Spring Grove. Ella was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Shrewsbury, the South-Central York County Senior Center, New Freedom, and had assisted her late husband Edwin on the family farm in Codorus Township and in the New Oxford Area.
She leaves, five children, Thomas Amspacher (Judy) of York, Donald Amspacher (Sheree) of Landisville, Dolores Thoman (Fred) of New Oxford, Peggy Shaffer (David) of York, and Linda Wolfe (Bernie) of York; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by five sons, Robert, Edwin, John, James, and Richard Amspacher.
