Edwin was born on June 21, 1936, in Hanover, a son of Ella L. (Lemmon) Amspacher of Shrewsbury and the late Edwin N. Amspacher.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from AMP Inc. (Tyco) in 1997 after 42 years of service, where he was a Manufacturing Engineer, Plant Manager at the Green Valley Road Plant and had worked in management at the Harrisburg location.
Edwin was a member of Paradise Holtzschwamm ECC, where he had served on the Church Council and was a former member of Bethany UCC in York. He also was a member of the Jefferson Sportsmen's Association, the AMP Nimrods, the Loganville Fire Company, Jacobus Ambulance Club and the Viking Athletic Association.
In addition to his wife and mother, he also leaves three sisters, Dolores A. Thoman of Hanover, Peggy J. Shaffer and Linda L. Wolfe, both of York; and three brothers, Thomas L. Amspacher of The Villages, FL, James M. Amspacher of Codorus, and Donald C. Amspacher of Landisville.
He was also predeceased by three brothers, John A. Amspacher, Robert F. Amspacher, and Richard C. "Dick" Amspacher.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. February 22, 2013, at Paradise Holtzschwamm ECC, Thomasville, with Pastor Paul Guiliano, officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Zion Shaffer's Church Cemetery, Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. the 21st at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., Glen Rock, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
