Joseph Lloyd (1896-1963), 67, Route 1, died in Veterans Hospital in Lake City at 19:40 a.m. Tuesday after a short illness. He was a veteran of World War I and had been a resident of Palatka for five years, coming from Dunkirk, Ind. He was an auto mechanic and body man.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel L. Lloyd, Palatka; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Butcher, Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Richard Stephen, Portland, Ind., Miss Margaret Lloyd, stationed in Rammstein Air Base, Germany; and two sons, Joseph C., Redkey, Ind; and Howard W., Palatka; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Masters Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ed Tillman, pastor of Tabernacle Church, officiating. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Friday. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Wednesday, 4 Dec 1963.)
